Privacy Policy
1. Scope and Site Operator
World Hot Issues (the “Site”) is an informational website that does not require account registration. This policy explains information processed directly by the Site operator and information that may be processed by the hosting, contact-delivery, and advertising services used to provide the Site.
2. Information You Submit and Browser Storage
If you use the contact form, your name or pseudonym, email address, subject, and message are sent through FormSubmit to the editor’s email account. Please do not include sensitive information. FormSubmit processes submissions to provide its service and states that submission records may be retained for up to 30 days. See the FormSubmit privacy policy for details.
The Site stores the following preferences in your browser's localStorage so that your choices can be remembered: your display theme (light or dark mode) and your selected language. These values are not sent to our servers and contain no personally identifiable information. You can remove them at any time through your browser settings. Public pages do not store member accounts or payment information.
Advertising and consent: The Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), a consent dialog will ask for your choices before advertising cookies are set; your consent record is stored in your browser. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
3. Hosting and Access Logs
The Site uses Vercel hosting and content delivery services. Vercel may process an IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser and device information, and diagnostic logs to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. See the Vercel Privacy Notice.
Visitor analytics: The Site uses Google Analytics 4 only after you separately consent to visitor analytics. Google may process page visits, access times, referral information, browser and device information, and approximate location using analytics cookies. The purpose is to measure readership and improve content and usability. The Site does not add names, email addresses, contact messages, or member identifiers to its analytics tag, and excludes query parameters and fragments from the initial page and referral URLs. Google Signals and advertising personalization features are disabled in the tag configuration. Visitor analytics is off by default and is separate from advertising consent. Before you allow it, the Site does not load Google Analytics or send visit information to it. Your choice is stored in localStorage for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after up to 180 days, which may be renewed during continued use. You can decline or withdraw consent through ‘Visitor analytics settings’ in the footer of every page. Withdrawal stops subsequent analytics collection and removes Google Analytics cookies set by this Site. Records already sent to Google are not automatically deleted; contact us below for deletion inquiries.
Visitor counts (Vercel Web Analytics): The Site counts page views, visitor countries and referrers with Web Analytics from its hosting provider, Vercel. This counting uses no cookies or device identifiers; it distinguishes visits within 24 hours using a temporary hash of the request's IP address and browser information, does not identify individuals, and does not link activity across other sites. The aggregated results are used only to improve the Site.
4. Google AdSense and Automatically Processed Information
The Site uses Google AdSense. When you visit a page containing an AdSense tag, your browser may automatically send Google the page URL, IP address, browser and device information, general location, and advertising interaction information. Google may set or read cookies or other local storage and use web beacons or other identifiers to deliver and measure advertising, prevent fraud and abuse, and, where permitted, personalize ads. 5. Advertising Cookies and Personalization
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this Site and other sites on the Internet. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Even when ad personalization is off, information may still be used for contextual advertising, general location, ad measurement, and fraud prevention.
6. Consent and Advertising Technology Providers
When advertising is activated in a region where applicable law requires consent, the Site is configured to present a consent message before using advertising cookies or personal data for personalized advertising. For advertising served to visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the Site uses a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP). You can review purposes and providers and change your choices through that message. 7. Disclosure, Retention, and Deletion
The Site operator does not sell inquiry information. Contact submissions are transmitted through FormSubmit and an email service provider, and the operator keeps them only for the time needed to answer and follow up on the inquiry before deletion. Google, Vercel, and FormSubmit may separately process and retain information under their own policies and legal obligations. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or valid legal process.
8. Your Choices, Contact, and Changes
